You’ll notice by our name The Ground Up that we Love soil, rocks and other stuff too. We think ‘green is good’ and that plays out in our Earth Friendly Eco system of ideas. We’ve populated our values with concepts like: SUSTAINABILITY, ORGANIC, highest quality, healthy SOIL structure, your budget, protecting the earth by keeping it NATURAL, and creating yards that encourage BARE-FOOT behavior.
Good foundation being the ROOT - pun intended - we think it’s important that quality materials are available to everyone. We've learned a lot from our work with Soil Foodweb. In addition to our own in-house testing, Soil Foodweb provides independent testing of our soils, so you can be confident that we're maintaining exceptional soil biology. Since we love what we do, the education continues and we’ll bring what we learn to you by having informative answers and providing the highest quality products at a price that's competitive with conventional landscaping materials currently available in Houston.
In order to protect and promote organic LIFE, we choose what we use - wisely. We create a better product by being selective about what goes into it. Our soils and mulches are 100% LOCALLY produced from recycled virgin tree waste and yard trimmings. Everything we do is different at The Ground Up - and for good reason. From the materials we start with, to the care and attention we give to ensure the maximum amount of beneficial organisms - which will transform your landscape into a thriving, natural, work of art - so it remains sustainable, pure and beautiful.
When it comes to stone and rock, we’ve made every effort to do the HEAVY lifting for you. We source our materials from Arizona (Chino Valley), Arkansas (Ozarks), Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, the Pacific Coast of Mexico, Texas and Tennessee. Of course, if there is something you want, that you don't see here, let us know. We're happy to source it for you.
